universal remote control is being passed into your hands.
Poetry is the language of the future."

A Thing's Not Finished Till You Give It Away

Bob's
got his hand on that remote control, and he stays
busy with it. Besides his regular gig as
poetry correspondent for About.com,
he's also curator of the annual People's
Poetry Gathering and publisher of a multimedia
site, World
of Poetry.
Sifting through some
of the online interviews
with Bob* uncovers such a trove of projects that
you have to wonder when -- or if -- this poet ever
sleeps. Did he produce the hugely successful
PBS series, United
States of Poetry, before or after he
finished his gig as poetmaster at the Nuyorican
Poets Café? Perhaps he published his
latest collection of poems, This summer he dueled Sherman Alexie in the World Heavyweight Poetry Bout Championship at Taos. You can read Bob's own words about how he "lost" that match, though many of us would consider it a win to even be invited to a gig like that... In between, somehow, he's still writing poems. Please click on the titles to read a few of them here on poetz. What's next? We hear that a new poetry club may be opening soon on the Bowery. But you better e-mail Bob if you want to know more about that one, since there might be sixteen new things in the hopper ahead of it...
