KERRY FAGAN

FLESH BLEEDS RED

....flesh bleeds red when there's an intrusion,

the crimson river-- life's fleeting infusion.

orange, a blossom, fragrant and white,

prolific yet fragile, a fertility right.

orange excitement releases the power

of rust and religion and all wild flowers.

pink is more gentle, caressing the mind,

the color of candy to those who are blind.

pink is a child. pink is a kiss,

a ballet slipper, a young man's bliss.

white is the light that scatters the dark,

the grace and the glory of one loving heart.

white is the moment suspended in time

when all men are poets and all the world rhymes
