I remember

the words of a frightened woman-child

Disguised as a loving mother with whom I shared nothing.

 

The brief moments before HIM

are washed away

 

forever

 

never again her

words of wisdom

of comfort

of security are spoken

I feel alone

 

bewildered

 

frightened

 

I want to feel the excitement

stretching my veins

 

as I respond to long awaited call for

fresh

hot

cookies

 

and even the hateful liquid I am crying over.

 

the heavy

awkward glass

looms before me like a tall

 

fucked up man wearing black.

 

she wore white, then black, then white and black again.

I wore a hole in the floor

 

Afraid

I remember the pain.

I brace myself…

the spilled, hateful liquid would surely flow

 

she rose out of her chair

 

and rushed to my side

I flinched

 

at once and at last…
